Sunflowers Have A Large Flower Head

Today is our second meeting discussing Report Text (Chapter 9). The learning objective today is to identify detailed information from report texts.

Setelah di pertemuan pekan lalu kalian mempelajari definisi, tujuan, bagian/struktur dan ciri kebahasaan teks Report, pada pertemuan hari ini kalian akan fokus pada kegiatan membaca dan mengidentifikasi informasi-informasi rinci dari teks Report.


Here are our activities today.

Activity 1

Read a report text entitled "Orangutan" on page 126 Activity 10.

Understand the text well. You can see the table below to find the meanings of some vocabularies from the text.

After that, please do exercise on page 127 Activity 12. Decide whether the sentences are TRUE or FALSE. Write the answers on your textbook.



Activity 2

Watch the video entitled "Sunflowers Have A Large Flower Head" (again). Use the table below to help you find the meanings of some vocabularies in the video.

Then, answer the following questions correctly!


  1. What species are sunflowers from?
  2. What part of the flower was used for food?
  3. How large is the flower head of sunflowers?
  4. What do sunflowers need to grow well?
  5. Where do sunflowers grow best?

Please write the questions above and the answers on your notebook.

You may ask to your teacher in WA group if there are some difficulties.


Activity 3

Arrange these sentences into a good report text! Write the correct paragraph on your notebook.

Trik menyusun teks:

  • Sebagai kalimat pertama, pilih kalimat yang paling umum/yang berisi perkenalan terhadap topik teks
  • Letakkan kalimat yang berisi informasi serupa secara berdekatan/berkelompok (tidak dipencar), misal kalimat2 awal tentang habitat semua, dilanjut kalimat2 lain tentang physical appearance, lalu food, dll.
